Project completed...at last

Finally some time to finish my APRIL - PHOTO A DAY ALBUM...LOL yes I know its now June but hey I have been busy...

 

And inside a photo for every day of April and some journalling....a great momento and collection of some of the 'day to day stuff' we forget to photograph.

A bit late.. April - Photo A Day update

Yes its me again...finally with some more photos from my April - Photo a Day update - hey better late then never huh!

 

During the last week of the holidays in Coffs Harbour the weather turned pretty foul so ice skating was on the agenda......and a trip to see the 'fabulous Zac Effron' (Lilly and Taylor's quote not mine!) in the movie "17 Again" (they even took Nana!)

 

Then the road trip home where we stopped along the way to visit some friends holidaying at Myall Lakes....we caught the punt across the river and witnessed a dingo in the wild then had another break amongst the sand dunes which were loads of fun!

 

 

 

Such a shame that my daughters hate having there photo taken huh! LOL...Well officially April is over and the Photo a Day challenge is complete..I am off to the shops this afternoon to print out my photos and hope to have them in their album by the end of the weekend...stay tuned!

Photo A Day - April - catchup

Warning - lots of photos to view - eek - after a wonderful holiday up north in Coffs Harbour I am going to play catch up for a few days....here goes...

 

After lots of 'feasting' on Easter Sunday we went for a long walk..always great to catch up with cousins..Baby Clarke is starting to show!

 

Cofs Harbour here we are - yay! After all their rain and shocking flooding we enjoyed a few days of great weather and some last swims in the beautiful clear ocean...until the warmer weather heads back in a few months..

 

You are never too old to play in the sand and make sand castles!

 

Taylor is still loving the camera she got for Christmas here she is experimenting with sky, cloud shots - you go girl!

Another beautiful day we decided to walk across to Muttonbird Island, this island attached to the mainland by a jetty is home for thousands of birds that migrate here every year to lay their eggs in nests that they build amongst the vegetation on the ground, they kinda dig and bury amongst the thick vegetation that covers the island floor..we were lucky enough to see one protecting his chicks..it was actually quite late most of the other birds have migrated already..they'll be back much later in the year.

Photo A Day - April

I cannot beleive its already April 9 and I have nine photos ready to put into my 'almost completed' album...this has been a fun challenge to participate in..here are a few more of my photos to share...

 

Taylor finished school yesterday so was lucky enough to join me in an "Easter cuppa" with Nana and Gramps...Lilly certainly didn't miss out though have a look at the Easter loot the girls got from them...

 

How cute are those bunny cookies...go Nana!

Back later today with the photos of the Easter treats I made for my niece and nephew..I have been enjoying the inspiration over at Mel www.melissagoodsell.typepad.com and Fiona's www.fionacarter.typepad.com blogs...it has been egg-ceptional!!

Photo a Day - April and some Easter goodies

Hi, me again for anoher photo update..today Lilly's recently remodelled bedroom gets a look in...

 

When we moved back to Sydney we had 'makeovers' for the girls bedrooms, they had outgrown the fairy stage and needed a more up to date look...Taylor went for the 'sophisticated beach chick' and Lilly who has become obsessed with France for some reason wanted the 'Parisian feel'...its amazing what you can do with a few 'props' and a new doona cover..the chandeleir was a special pressie but it really does make the room look very French!

I have been busy making yummy ROCKY ROAD for Easter treats..the girls have bundled some up for their special teachers..I have just used paper scraps to decorate some groovy plain bags that I had..added a typed message and filled with yummy treats and a feather for that special Easter touch..

   

Some goodies for friends to enjoy...and finally the girls wanted something little to share with their friends...well happy to buy a few eggs but their lists were 'out of control' (apparently everyone is your best friend in high school) so, so that there were no tears, embarrassing moments and friends left out I dragged out these cute little bags from my storage stash..each contains a few tiny eggs..now everyone should be happy!

Photo a Day - April

Where did that weekend go??? I suppose at least this week is short, not many sleeps until the girls are on school holidays and we all get a break (I love cooking but must admit school lunches do my head in!!).

Today I have a few photos to share with you for my Photo a Day - April project!

 

This is SATURDAY's photo - Taylor's swanky new doona cover - nice huh! She has been saving up and with her Birthday money was going to buy a new doona to go with her new beachy themed room...Saturday we visited a factory outlet and she picked up this , it was a real bargain so she now has more money to spend!

We spent SUNDAY catching up on housework, gardening and homework before having dinner with good friends..also found time to give Latte (bunny) a much needed bath...

 

He is just too cute huh, and pretty co-operative at bathtime (well most of the time anyway)...

I think it helps that we warm the water (told you he was precious - think he has forgotten he is a rabbit!!)

 

LOL - sorry this has turned in to a tutorial on "how to bath a rabbit" we just couldn't resist taking lots of snapshots - it is almost Easter after all xx

Photo a Day - April

Happy April everyone! I have decided in the attempt to get me motivated to finish some scrapbooking album pages (yes I KNOW the China photos have not been put in an album yet!) I am going to participate in the Fiskars challange - take a photo a day for the month of April - I think its a fun way to really document what 'really' happens over a month and with Easter and school holidays thrown in it should be lots of fun...check out www.fiskarscraft.typepad.com for lots of ideas and entries.

To start the ball rolling my very talented buddie and Fiskar Ambassador Annette www.annettehanigan.typepad.com designed a mini album to be made all ready for the April photo challenge - if you are interested in making a mini album using just scrapbooking supllies you already have I recommend you check out her tutorial on the Fiskars blog - its very easy to follow - there was a slight panic by me when all my good intentions went out the door and late evening 31 March I still had not begun making the album.....I am happy to report that a strong cup of tea and Annette's wonderful instructions got me to this stage...

 

Now all I have to do is put it together - sounds easy huh - well check back in a few days see how I went LOL!

My photos for the month are based around "our life", here is a typical photo of what happens in our house every morning...Taylor is at high school and catches a bus so is up early, organised and out the door usually as Lilly casually wanders in half asleep ready for breakkie...it was a bleak, miserable rainy day in Sydney to excuse the lighting...

   

Now that brings me to today April 2 - Thursday and another wet, miserable day in Sydney...lots of running around and chores to do today but before I go let me introduce you to "CRAZY"...he is a little critter that Taylor designed and made as part of her Tech assignment for school..now when I was in year 7 Tech lessonswere spent threading needles, learning how to thread a sewing machine and if you were really luck at some point you may get to sew something...well how times change...the brief was make a critter using some recycled products that can hold a piece of equipment?? Well CRAZY was born from felt (the easiest thing to teach someone to sew who can't...) his back has an old pocket from a air of Lilly's jeans that no longer fits and this pocket holds yep you guessed it a mobile phone...his hair is pipecleaners and legs and arms ribbon knotted...not bad for a first attempt I say and defintely worthy of day 2's photo!
