Recently I was asked to help out with all the reception flowers for a friends daughters wedding.....anyone that knows me knows this would be my dream job so it was a definite YES from me! The only problem for me was the wedding was in Melbourne, with no flowers market open to the public...eek!
So, lucky for me a friend of a friend told me about the talented Philomena and Bloombox Co, a few phone calls and I was set my flowers would be ready Thursday afternoon giving me the day to get everything ready and Friday to "play".
First job was to wash and dry all the 'vases' I had collected, lots of recycled glass jars of different shapes and sizes transformed with organza ribbons and rustic string.
So happy with the blooms that Philomena ordered for me, I also sent my trusty helpers off with secateurs in hand to raid some neighbours gardens and they came back with an array of greenery and some fabulous gum nuts that I was able to incorporate into the arrangements.
I was so happy with how it all came together, the venue Gardens House in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne was a perfect backdrop for Brooke and Adam's vintage styled wedding...I loved the mis-match of chairs, fabrics and colours, the festoon lighting, the vintage bar carts....the flowers bought it all together and certainly added the WOW factor!
Congratulations to Brooke and Adam, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day xox
