I have a complaint to make...there are not enough hours in the day LOL...seriously if we could just squeeze in a few more 'creating' hours i'd be a happy girl...

Well most of Sydney woke this morning to an eerie sky..a severe dust storm had hit most of NSW bringing with it winds up to 90km/h...the skies looked thick with fog and glowed an eerie orange...

Vanilla and Coconut Cake with passionfruit icing ....yummo..after all a girl can not live on 'creating' alone..LOL..seriosuly this cake is good, the recipe was in the Sunday paper a few weeks back but if anyone would like a copy just leave me a comment.

This is a great new blog set up by some talented ladies that issue challenges every month using advertisments for inspiration...this month the challenge is to seek inspiration for the Tetley Green tree advertisment that appears on tv AND include a stamp in your entry...here is my take on the challenge.
I also got my Fiskars 'monthly fix' of recycling in the srcap by using some green netting that came with a recent fruit market purchase...LOL x
This challenge has been so much fun. It has really made me 'think outside the square' and appreciate the colours that are often 'under my nose'...special thanks to Annette www.annettehanigan.typepad.com who has worked tirelessly behind the scenes not only with the amazing collages she has presented but with lovely comments and the odd motivation...xx
I have 'scrapped' all my wonderful photos and rather than bore you page by page, I have inlisted the help of Picassa to show you a collage of my scrapped pages...
After much procrastinating I decided to make a special album to remember the COLOUR ME HAPPY challenge so covered some thick heavy cardboard in 'coloured stripey paper' then used Bazzill coloured papers along with a few embelishments and lots of paint chart cards to 'theme' each page. A quick bash with the Fiskars eyelet punch, and I was done!
And a final trip down memory lane.....a collage of MY red, pink, purple, blue, green, yellow, orange, black and white photos...enjoy!
I have managed to complete a few projects I have been working on...first a Birthday present for a friend of Lilly...
A Congratulations card for a close family friend and yet another Birthday card...
Remember the BABY SHOWER I am organising..it is going to be an 'underwater kinda theme', Brooke doesn't know if she is having a boy or a girl...
And finally the Baby Shower is a little over a month away but you know me..always the 'organised one'..here is my pressie...an album ready for photos of both an 'expecting Brooke' as well as the new bundle...I figure there will be lots to do with decorating for the party so having the pressie ready now is a good thing...right!
I purchased a small box and decorated it with the same papers, complete with an organza bow its the perfect Baby Shower gift, I am really happy with the final result..hope Brooke is too xx
A few weeks ago a girlfriend and I headed up to Belrose to www.scrapbookmoments.com.au for a day of scrapping! We managed to complete two double layouts of some special photos...I have just added the finishing touches, what do you think??
Love the use of the frame, I've never done that before I was really happy with the way they turned out.
Here is a close up of some of the lettering - just love it - I put transparancy over the clear letters - good look huh! Its nice to potter with scrapbooking pages and create your own masterpieces but from time to time I think we should attend a class, learn some new techniques, a little outside influence never hurt anyone!

I have just put the finishing touches on our pressie to Mum for Mothers Day this Sunday - its "Nana's Brag Book" and contains a few of the latest and favourite family shots for her to update the relos and friends she visits over the next few months...its the perfect size for her handbag but looks equally as good standing on its own on a bookshelf and it was LOTS OF FUN to make.
The very talented KIM ARCHER over at www.kimarcher.com.au recently had a workshop called "Mini Memories", its not to late to check it out and is a great idea for a Birthday gift or perfect for Christmas, Nana is gunna luv it!

Those that know we well are aware of how organised I am..(scary really) well lately I have been feeling a little out of control in the organisation stakes with regards to my scrapbooking supplies...time to take back control! LOL
I always hold on to my scraps..you never know when you are going to need them and most of my cards are made with bits of this and that, but finding the 'bit' when you need it is not that easy - until now. I simply bought a portable file from Big W and sorted my scraps into colours - easy peasy and even easier to find.
Now that I am starting to get my supplies organised it must be time to make some cards!
Another great way to use up scraps and keep present wrapping inexpensive but original is to use a plain bag and jazz it up, I have used some stamps from my collection and added colour..I love adding some tissue paper and it saves often actually wrapping the pressie.
And of course its Mothers Day on Sunday...Mum if you are lurking out there turn off the computer NOW and do not scroll down any further LOL.
